This is my 5th year teaching at Eagle Glen Intermediate. In my position I get to work with both 5th and 6th grade students providing extra assistance in Math. I will provide support by either partnering with the classroom teacher during an activity or lesson, working in small groups with the children or through one-on-one support. My assistance, and role varies from day-to-day, and depends on the individualized needs of the children.
Here is a little bit about me outside of school. I have two wonderfully, crazy boys! Holden is 10 years old and is in the 5th grade and Lincoln is 8 years old and is in the 3rd grade. Both of my boys attend school in the Raymore-Peculiar School District. We love being involved with sports along with various activities throughout the community. Some of my happiest times are when my boys and I can be outside playing or when we are just being silly. I also enjoy being active, and healthy, so it's not uncommon to find me on the basketball court, softball field or volleyball court. In my down time I like to relax by curling up with a good book. We attend Vox Dei Community Church, and have a wonderful church family that we are very involved with! The last member of our family has four-legs. That would be our 75 lb. golden-doodle named Mabel. She is very spunky and energetic...a lot like Holden and Lincoln!
Students, I am a true believer in procedures, procedures, procedures! Let me tell you why. When you, as a student, know what to expect each and every day, you will rise to the expectations that I have of you. I am telling you now that they are high! I have found that when low expectations are set, you will only go that far. But when they are set high, you will soar! Parents, I will give your students a run-down on what they can expect each day when we are together in class. Trust me, we will do practice, practice, and more practice. Practice makes permanent, not perfect. I don’t expect perfection...that is impossible, as least for me. In my classroom I want students to be in a SAFE place where they feel comfortable to ask questions and to make mistakes so that they can learn from those mistakes. Our routines for class will help us all to be the best we can be, and that is what I want for all of us.
I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year where we will be learning and growing together! Please feel free to contact me at any time. My email address is [email protected].
